Children's Ministry Intern -First Baptist Church California

As a mentor in classrooms, I taught children conflict resolution skills, the harmony of play, and the limitless joy of imaginative play. Children's laughter filled the air like a beautiful melody, and I realized that nurturing the growth of young minds is a universal song that connects us all. Outside of school, I took on additional responsibilities to help church members and the local community. Each project was like adding a touch of paint to a canvas of compassion, creating a bigger picture of support, care, and unity. The community became more than just a place of work; it transformed into a stage for acts of kindness and teamwork. As an intern with the Refuge youth group, I had the privilege of working with teenagers between 12 and 15 years old. This experience significantly enriched my time as an intern. Rather than simply being a mentor, I became a partner in helping these kids realize their goals and aspirations. Together, we explored the challenges and opportunities of their teenage years, finding a balance between offering guidance and fostering their independence. Our collective experiences created a transformative journey that had a lasting impact on both the youth and me. Music was an important part of my journey, especially through my participation in the church's worship team. I used my musical abilities to create a special atmosphere during church services, combining calming melodies with uplifting rhythms. The worship team allowed me to connect with others, letting the music bridge the gap between us and communicate emotions that words could not.

Vietnam Health Project

Raising funds for children's charity in Vietnam

During my sophomore year, I enthusiastically joined the Vietnam Health Project club, a remarkable initiative aimed at making a meaningful difference in the lives of children in Vietnam. As a member, I actively participated in our fundraising efforts, which primarily involved selling a delightful array of Vietnamese delicacies such as spring rolls, salad, and tantalizing Thai tea. Our goal was clear: to raise funds for children's charities in Vietnam, ensuring they receive the essential support they need for a brighter future. Through our collective dedication and passion, we not only enjoyed sharing the rich flavors of Vietnamese cuisine with our community but also contributed to a noble cause, leaving a positive impact on the lives of those in need halfway across the globe.
